You do not find kids eating sandwiches, chips, or burritos in Japan.  Japanese public schools provide nutritionally well balanced hot meals for lunch everyday. Obesity rates among Japanese children are extremely low. Now that's tax dollars in good use.

With hundreds of restaurants in a busy city block of Tokyo, food business is extremely competitive. Some eateries fade away and new ones emerge to appeal to local customers. Whether it's American, Italian, Chinese, French or Japanese, the choice for customers keep expanding.
