It's crazy enough to think of building a highway through an office building, but that's exactly what happened to Osaka's Gate Tower Building. But why you ask. This peculiar construction is the result of land right settlement. The property owner fought for 5 years to avoid yielding to the area's redevelopment. The final resolution was to build a highway without demolishing the building. Clever, yet peculiar settlement.
