How can a bento cost $1,593 that's just enough to serve one person?  The group of tubers travel to Niko to find out why.  Ekiben or local train station bento is one of the must-try items while traveling in Japan.  There are literally hundreds of different bentos throughout Japan.  The price normally ranges from $8 to $20.

Osaka locals are proud of their food culture that competes with Tokyo's diverse world of eateries as they claim their palates are more sophisticated than Tokyoites'.  Here in Osaka, Matt shows his viewers the most expensive Ekiben at Ekiben Marche, where the venue is dedicated to a huge selection of Ekiben.  The insanely high-priced Ekiben are displayed with $200 price tag. It is medium-size beef on top of rice with garnishment.  Ekiben is a bento to buy before hopping on a train.  Who in the right mind would spend $200 for lunch?  And that's for just one person.
