Wage increase lagging behind the rising cost of living has been a universal issue.  Paolo revels his average daily expenses for living in Tokyo.  The biggest expense is of course the rent which sets back $49 daily or $1,500 a month.  Adding water, gas, electricity, phone service, internet, and transportation the monthly cost reaches $3,300. Paolo has gym membership and daily necessities including personal care items, food, dining out, and most importantly coffee from Starbucks included in his monthly budget.
