Japan's beautiful historic town virtually unknown
Posted by Sadao Sasaki on
Kumagawa in Fukui prefecture located 214 miles west of Tokyo is a beautiful historic town where many Edo era (1600-1800) buildings still exist, but virtually unknown as a travel destination. Sadly, this once thriving town of mackerel trade faded with time and the buildings have been abandoned. Thanks to entrepreneurs from Tokyo who are turning them into hotels and cafes.
